Rookie tests took place on 13th June 2007 at Rockingham with two drivers taking part.
Instruction was given by Sonny Howard and John Mickel with Drew Furlong in attendance from the BRSCC. Lee O'Keefe was on hand for the pacing laps.
Eric Cowley-Booker, returned but struggled with a car that was not to his liking. His plan is to purchase a car to take his Rookie test in the future.
The current World Hot Rod champion Carl Boardley was a different
matter.

Following
Lee they were soon down to 38 second laps
and Carl felt a change to the #99 car would be to his suiting.
A series of 40 second laps are needed to pass the test and his first lap on his own was a 40, then a few 39's and a bunch of 38's with his last 3 were in the 37's. The FSNBF car obviously suited Carl and passing in such an impressive way bode's well for his future plans.
The World Hot Rod finals will come first on the weekend of 7th July at Ipswich www.spedeworth.co.uk
Good luck to Carl, we hope to see him in a V8 in July
