Lydden Hill Cancellation

VSR V8 Trophy event at Lydden cancelled

There was disappointment throughout the VSR Series camp on Wednesday evening as the teams were informed that their races this weekend at Lydden Circuit had been cancelled.

Lydden Circuit made the decision based on the predicted grid turnout for the event.  The two V8 Trophy machines of Colin White and Tony Hurdle, as well as five of the other VSR class cars were not enough to satisfy the organisers, despite similar grid numbers providing excellent racing at the previous two events.

V8 Trophy series representative Duane Kidd was preparing his Revolution Racing team's cars at their workshop near Rockingham when he was told the news.  "It's obviously very disappointing not to be racing this weekend at Lydden", he said.  "We have tested there and put in a very good, quick times - I think we could have had two very competitive races with the VSR Series".

All attention must now turn to Brands Hatch in two week's time, and securing more cars on the grid for the legendary Kent circuit.

It is hoped that event on 15th June will be a turning point in the season for the VSR Series, where the excellent racing and on-track action has been clouded by poor grid numbers.

However, Team Networking have announced their intention to begin their assault on the 2008 VSR V8 Trophy series at Brands, and it is hoped that extra cars from both the CWS and Revolution teams will also bolster the grid and add to the spectacle that has been the VSR V8 Trophy in 2008.
