SCSA News for 2007

12th November 2006

SCSA Awards Evening 2006

A good turn out at the Holiday Inn, Corby was the scene for the 2006 SCSA awards evening. The awards round up and forward view of the 2007 season was presented by team representative Duane Kidd.

Duane soon made it obvious how busy he had been since the final round in October by making a few crowd pleasing announcements.

Currently there are 17 provisionally confirmed cars that will contend the 2007 SCSA season.

A further 9 cars are available for sale providing a possible 26 car grid.

Colin White is to organise Rookie tests with at least 3 new confirmed drivers.

The evaluation of a tyre choice and running the big V8's on Bio-Ethanol fuel as a series will be made by the teams as a collective with the formation of a teams "think tank" to evaluate any rule changes.

Provisional decisions on dates have been agreed with the BRSCC as well as the weekend format of extra practice on Saturday as well as Pitstops. Each race on the Sunday will now be 50 laps.

Leaving the stage to a rapturous applause Duane admitted there was still much work to be completed but slowly but surely the pieces were falling into place and with the amount of interest the series has, a 20 plus grid looked likely for the first meeting in April.
